Capital One continues to make changes to its line of credit cards while expanding its list of benefits and perks available to cardholders. From relaunching its travel portal, to adding a new travel credit card, and now adding dining and entertainment benefits, the issue continues its quest to deliver more value.
Hot on the heels of the recent launch of Capital One restaurants comes Capital One Entertainment, a new ticketing platform for eligible Capital One rewards cardholders. Powered by Vivid Seats, this new ‘digital-first’ platform allows cardholders to redeem their rewards for tickets to over 500,000 events. The platform unlocks access to experiences for sports, dining, music and more.
What is Capital One Entertainment?
Essentially, Capital One Entertainment allows eligible cardholders to reserve tickets with their rewards. It is completely digital without the need to make a call or go to a ticket office. The platform will be rolling out to cardholders on Thursday, March 24 and is already offering offers for exclusive events such as:
- NCAA Men’s Final Four Weekend in New Orleans
- iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, TX
- iHeartRadio Music Festival
- Capital One Orange Bowl
- National College Football Championship
- James Beard Foundation Events
- Culinary events from the MICHELIN Guide and more.
These experiences are available for redemption only, by all eligible Capital One branded rewards cardholders, including the Venture, Savor, Quicksilver, Spark and Journey line of Capital One cards. Savor and SavorOne cardholders will also earn 8% cash back on Capital One Entertainment purchases.
What is Capital One Dining?
Capital One Dining is for foodies who want access to premier restaurants, as well as exclusive access to unique events and experiences. Capital One Dining, launched in early March, allows cardholders to access the platform through the Capital One mobile app or online at www.CapitalOne.com/dining.
The Capital One Dining interface is powered by SevenRooms, a guest experience platform for hospitality businesses. The dining platform aims to make it easy for food lovers to discover restaurants, book reservations, and communicate their food preferences to restaurants of their choice. You can even book hard-to-get restaurants with top industry partners like the MICHELIN Guide, the James Beard Foundation, or Chef José Andrés.
What else is new for Capital One cardholders?
These updates come amid a series of changes the issuer has made to its credit card offerings. In fall 2021, Capital One relaunched the Capital One Travel portal after entering into a partnership with travel search engine Hopper.
The credit card company also announced plans to add more Capital One lounges at US airports, which are accessible to visitors with eligible Capital One credit cards. So far, the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport Lounge is open and offers amenities such as free Wi-Fi, take-out dining options, relaxation rooms and more again.
Finally, the issuer recently launched a real competitor in the field of travel credit cards: the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card, which offers a generous welcome offer, a travel-friendly rewards structure, credits and many amenities you would expect from a top credit card. -end of travel credit cards.
With all of these enhancements, enhanced features, and benefits for cardholders, it feels like Capital One is creating a card ecosystem that can truly compete with issuers like American Express and Chase. Of course, the Venture X Rewards card still has some way to go to reach the same status as the Platinum Card® from American Express or the Chase Sapphire Reserve. However, that’s not far behind, and the additional Capital One Dining is another step in that direction.
